Industrial Coupling

Couplings Manufacturer | Shaft Coupling, Flexible Coupling, Elastomeric Coupling
Dream produces a full range of industrial couplings — flexible, rigid, gear, elastomeric, disc and zero backlash couplings — in steel, stainless steel and aluminum. OEM custom, CAD/STEP, quick sampling for pump, motor and automation applications.
A coupling connects two rotating shafts to transmit torque while compensating for misalignment, dampening shock and protecting components. Common product names: shaft coupling, flexible coupling, rigid coupling, gear coupling, elastomeric coupling, disc coupling, oldham coupling, jaw coupling, zero backlash coupling.
Materials & Finishes — Material Advantages
1.Stainless Steel (304 / 316 / 316L): Excellent corrosion resistance and hygienic properties; ideal for marine, food, pharmaceutical and chemical environments. High strength and good weldability; electropolish available for sanitary finishes.
2.Alloy / Carbon Steel (heat treated): High strength and wear resistance after heat treatment (quenching / tempering); suitable for heavy duty, high torque applications. Can be surface hardened or chrome plated for improved durability.
3.Aluminum / Aluminum Alloy: Lightweight with good strength to weight ratio and corrosion resistance; suitable for applications where reduced mass and thermal conductivity are beneficial. Can be anodized for enhanced surface protection and appearance.
4.Elastomers (Polyurethane, NBR, EPDM): Flexible, impact absorbing and vibration damping properties for inserts and spiders; good resistance to oils and abrasion depending on compound selection.
6.Brass / Bronze: Good machinability, corrosion resistance in many environments, and favorable bearing properties for low speed sliding applications; commonly used for bushings and decorative or conductive components.
6.Engineering Plastics (POM, Nylon, UHMWPE): Low friction, low noise, chemical resistance and light weight; ideal for low load bearings, guides and cleanroom applications.
7.PTFE / PTFE lined: Extremely low friction, chemical inertness and wide temperature range; suitable for near dry operation and aggressive media.
8.Surface Treatments: Electropolish and passivation improve corrosion resistance and hygiene for stainless parts; zinc/nickel plating and hard chrome increase corrosion and wear resistance for carbon/alloy steels; anodizing protects aluminum and enhances appearance; PTFE coatings reduce friction.
Selection Guide — Key Selection Points
1.Rated torque & safety factor: Choose a coupling with an appropriate rated torque based on peak and continuous torque, and allow a sufficient safety margin.
2.Misalignment compensation: Verify allowable radial, axial and angular misalignment values and select a coupling that meets the misalignment specification.
3.Backlash requirement: For servo and closed loop systems, use zero backlash or disc couplings to meet precision positioning demands.
4.Speed & balance: For high speed applications, ensure dynamic balancing and select a coupling rated for the required max RPM.
5.Material & environment: Select materials suitable for the operating environment (e.g., 316L stainless steel couplings for corrosive or sanitary applications; heat resistant alloys or special coatings for high temperature use).
6.Mounting & hub type: Confirm hub connection method — keyway, clamp hub, shrink disc, or weld on — and choose the appropriate mounting style for installation and maintenance needs.
